What is a Birder?
Birding is the technical name for bird-watching. A Birder is a person who is dedicated to watching birds as a hobby.
Many people enjoy being out in nature and watching birds. For some people bird-watching is an enjoyable hobby whether watching birds in your backyard or going out on nature excursions to see birds in their natural habitat.
Birding or bird-watching is the name given to the activity of observing birds and studying their behaviour either by watching or using binoculars. Enthusiastic birders will spend a lot of time out in nature photographing birds and recording all the different species of birds that they have seen.
Birders are very dedicated birdwatchers and become extremely knowledgeable about the different species, their habitats, and migration patterns. Some serious birders will travel great distances to see a bird that is rare, or one that they have not seen before. More casual birdwatchers on the other hand, are quite content watching birds from their own backyard or in a local park.
Experienced birders learn to recognize birds by not only their markings but also the bird’s song.
If you enjoyed bird-watching there are often bird-watching clubs available to join nearby. By joining a birding club you will be able to become more knowledgable about the different species and have the opportunity to that will control pests and diseases go on club excursions to watch birds. Joining a birdwatching club is a great way to learn more about birds share photographs, and even participate in bird watching competitions.
